Why not see what the future holds?

This "calculator" will predict your probability of divorce within a 13% margin of error.

In other words, it’s not 100% accurate – no one can predict divorce with perfect accuracy – but it will accurately predict the long term outcome of marriages about 87% of the time. We suggest you use this as a kind of “barometer” to determine if you can expect fair weather ahead or a stormy marriage.

The formulas used to create this calculator are primarily based on information gathered in face-to-face interviews with 10,847 women age 15-44 in 1995 and 12,571 men and women aged 15–44 in 2002 conducted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Health Statistics as part of National Survey of Family Growth, and analyses of those statistics provided in reports entitled Cohabitation, Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage in the United States, Series 23, Number 22, July 2002, and Marriage and Cohabitation in the United States: A Statistical Portrait Based on Cycle 6 (2002) of the National Survey of Family Growth, Series 23, Number 28, (PHS) 2010-1980, February 2010.

Special credit goes to J. Christopher Westland CPA PhD, Professor, Information & Decision Sciences, University of Illinois, for his research which helped develop this calculator. For a complete list of the research used to create this calculator then click on Research at the bottom of the page.
